According to the police, a motor vehicle accident was reported in north Abilene on Tuesday. 

The officials reported that a pickup truck was heading west down the service road and failed to yield to the car that was traveling east as they tried to merge onto Interstate 20. 

Both the vehicles collided head-on. 

Officials reported that the driver of the car was rushed to the hospital and suffered non-life-threatening injuries from the collision. 

The driver of the pickup and other passengers remained at the scene.

The identity of the injured victim was not released by the police. 

No additional information regarding the crash was provided. 

It is yet to be determined by the police whether drugs, alcohol or reckless driving was the factor involved in the crash.
