One person received injuries after a traffic collision Thursday in San Diego.

As per the initial information, the dump truck crash took place at around 10:20 a.m. on the Morena Boulevard off-ramp from westbound Interstate 8 in Old Town. The early reports showed that a dump truck overturned down an embankment off a San Diego freeway, resulting in one person being trapped in its cab and forcing the closure of two off-ramps.

The reports also stated that the truck took out the bridge railing on the lefthand side of the road, pinning the driver inside the cab. The driver was rescued and rushed to a hospital with unspecified injuries. When the dump truck flipped over, its fuel tank spilled into a dry riverbed nearby.

As a result, the westbound and eastbound off-ramps to Morena were blocked during the investigation and cleanup. The off-ramp closure was expected to last for at least three hours. No other details are available.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
