1 person fatally struck after coming out of a vehicle on Highway 50 (Folsom, CA)

A person was killed after being hit by a vehicle when they came out of their car on Highway 50.

The incident happened on Highway 50 near Prairie City Road at around 2:45 a.m. According to the California Highway Patrol, a driver hit the center divider along the westbound side of Highway 50 and then came out of the car after the crash. Just then, another vehicle suddenly struck that person.

The person died of their injuries at the scene. The authorities will reveal the identity of the deceased after notifying the next of kin. As of now, officials have not provided any details about the vehicles involved in the accident.

The cause of the fatal crash is under active investigation.
