A 56-year-old Calistoga man lost his life and two others were injured following a two-vehicle accident Thursday on Highway 29.
As per the initial information, the fatal head-on crash took place at about 9:18 p.m. south of Diamond Mountain Road. The preliminary reports showed that a 56-year-old Calistoga resident was driving his GMC Sierra 1500 truck south on the highway when his truck went over the double yellow lines and collided with a Ford E-250 head-on.
Both Napa residents, including a 51-year-old and a 33-year-old were taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries. The Calistoga man was the only occupant of his vehicle and succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The officials said that the cleanup of the crash scene took about 2 hours. No other details are available.
The accident remains under investigation.
