1 person died in a single-vehicle crash on 10 Freeway and Cherry Valley Boulevard (Calimesa, CA)

A single-vehicle crash claimed life of one person on 10 Freeway and Cherry Valley Boulevard at around 9:43 p.m. on Saturday night.

The incident took place on westbound Christopher Columbus Transcontinental Highway 10 at Cherry Valley Boulevard. Bystanders told that the driver lost control and drove off the road until the vehicle caught fire. The driver was trapped in the wreckage and some good Samaritans failed to free the driver. By 10:02 p.m., the Riverside County coroner’s office actively responded to the crash scene. Authorities did not reveal the cause that led to the fatal crash.

An investigation is underway.
