The Arizona Department of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle crash in Tucson on Tuesday morning.
The collision involved three vehicles including a Transportation Department of Arizona construction vehicle and two commercial vehicles. One of the commercial vehicles rear-ended the truck, which was blocking the road while a construction closure was being cleared, after sideswiping the other commercial vehicle.
According to AZDPS, the commercial vehicle’s driver was ejected from his vehicle and incurred fatal injuries. The victim was declared dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed.
The fatal crash is being investigated by the officials. Around 9:20 a.m., the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 between Alvernon Way and Valencia Road were reopened.
