The Ventura County Sheriff’s reported a motor vehicle crash on Saturday morning. The accident happened at around 6:40 a.m. The officials reported that only one vehicle was involved in the collision.
The white sedan left the road south of Potrero while it was moving southbound on Westlake, according to the sheriff’s traffic investigators. The car went off the road, travelled up an embankment, and struck a Southern California Edison pole before coming to a stop 275 feet away.
The driver was declared dead inside the car after being fatally injured. No other occupants were there. The identity of the deceased victim is not yet known at this time.
The Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office and the sheriff’s traffic bureau in Thousand Oaks are both looking into what caused the fatal crash.
