The accident occurred at the 5900 block of Crawford Road in Sunland Park.
According to the officials, the car was found in an irrigation ditch off the side of the road.
One of the people in the car had incurred critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have not disclosed if there were any more people involved in the accident. Their identities have not been disclosed.
The cause of the accident is not known yet.
The fatal crash is being investigated by the officials.
