The New Mexico State Police reported a motor vehicle crash in San Mateo on Monday afternoon. The accident happened in the area of Mountain Rd and San Mateo Blvd at around 1:40 p.m.
The collision involved a motorcyclist. When officials arrived, they found a man who had been knocked off his motorbike as soon as they got there.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. The name and identity of the victim have not been disclosed yet.
Officers later discovered that the motorcyclist was speeding at the time of his crash and lost control. According to police, it doesn’t appear that any other cars were involved in the fatal crash.
