The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle crash on Monday afternoon in Rowland Heights. The accident happened on Orange (57) freeway, north of Brea Canyon Rd at around 1:25 p.m.
The collision involved only one vehicle. The events leading up to the collision are not yet known.
Police confirmed that one person was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim, who passed away at the scene, was not immediately known. There were no other reported injuries.
The fatal crash is being investigated by the officials. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
The CHP reported that the motorway had several lanes blocked. The CHP issued a Sigalert at 1:48 PM.
