The Arizona Department of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle crash on Friday morning.
A construction truck was clipped by a fast motorist at the Grant Street exit. That car reportedly lost control and slammed into the motorway median while carrying two women inside.
The passenger was sent to the hospital in an unclear condition. The driver was partially ejected from her car and incurred critical injuries. She was pronounced dead. The driver of the truck was uninjured. The identities of those involved have not been disclosed.
The officials reported that they suspect impairment to have played a factor in the accident but it has not yet been confirmed. The fatal crash is being investigated.
