The Galveston Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash on Sunday evening. The accident happened in the 8000 block of Ave J at around 3 p.m.
The motorbike was being driven northbound at a high speed, according to witnesses. When the driver tried to change lanes, he struck the rear panel of a black Mercedes.
According to authorities, the driver was thrown from the motorbike during the collision and suffered injuries that pose a serious risk of death. On the spot, they were declared dead.
Authorities claim there were no other injuries, and it is unclear whether drugs or alcohol use contributed to the collision.
Investigations into the fatal crash are still ongoing.
