The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle crash on Tuesday evening. The accident happened at East Ave and Cohasset Rd at around 9:45 p.m. The collision involved two vehicles.
Both cars had significant damage. In order to rescue the car’s occupant, who was transported by ambulance to Enloe Medical Centre, firefighters apparently had to cut off the roof of one of the vehicles.
As they moved him on the gurney towards the ambulance, the paramedics could hear him wailing. He was in a car on East Avenue, about 100 feet west of the intersection.
The other car’s driver had passed away at the scene. It had come to rest at the intersection and was facing east. That person was wrapped in a white sheet and was lying on the pavement.
It was unclear if either vehicle had any additional occupants.
The fatal crash is still being investigated.
