1 Person Died In A Motor Vehicle Crash In Caldwell Parish (Caldwell Parish, LA)

The Louisiana State Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 165 at around 2:50 PM. 

A 2013 Ford F250 being driven by Columbia resident Cody Culpepper, 30, was following Bates’ 2015 Ford Explorer as it traveled north on U.S. Highway 165.

Then, Culpepper’s car struck Bates’ car in the back, causing both cars to leave the road.

Sherry M. Bates, 73, was killed in the accident, according to the authorities.

Culpepper only sustained non-life-threatening wounds. 

Standard toxicology samples were gathered and sent in for examination.

Whether drugs or alcohol were involved is yet to be found.

The fatal crash is being investigated by the officials.
