Washington State Patrol Troopers reported a motor vehicle crash in Benton County on Thursday morning. The collision involved two vehicles. The accident happened on SR 24 just east of the Vernita Bridge, at milepost 43.
According to the Washington State Patrol, a vehicle crossed the center line on SR24 while heading westbound and collided with another car.
The driver of the vehicle that crossed the center line passed away at the scene from injuries sustained in the collision. The second car’s driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of their wounds. The identities of both drivers have not been disclosed at this time.
The fatal crash is being investigated by the officials. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. There are no other details available at this time.
