The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle crash on Saturday. The crash happened close to Beaumont. Police stated that The collision involved nine vehicles. 

One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Three more people were taken to the hospital with life-threatening conditions. The names and identities of the victims have not been made public yet. 

Whether drugs or alcohol were involved is yet to be found. According to TxDOT, all eastbound lanes at Smith Rd. are still blocked off while emergency personnel clear the scene.

The fatal crash is being investigated by the officials. No other information is available currently.
