1 Person Died In A Motor Crash In Yuma (Yuma, AZ)

February 13, 2023 / Source: Kyma

The Yuma Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash on Friday evening. The crash happened close to County 14th Street and Avenue A at around 10:41 p.m.

When the police arrived, they discovered that there had been an accident involving a motorcycle and a 2022 Toyota Avalon. The Avalon’s 60-year-old driver had struck the motorcycle after failing to stop at a red light.  The 42-year-old motorcycle driver was consequently ejected from his vehicle.

The motorcycle operator, who was not wearing a helmet, passed away from his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Avalon’s driver, however, suffered minor injuries, and paramedics took her to Yuma Regional Medical Center. The identities of both victims have not been reported at this time.

Although it does not appear that alcohol played a role in the fatal collision, the investigation is still ongoing.
