The Tennessee Highway Patrol reported a hit-and-run crash in Monroe County on Saturday afternoon at around 12:39 p.m.
The car was pulling a 12-foot wood plank trailer that remained at the scene.
The THP suspects a dark red or maroon flatbed truck was involved in the crash.
According to THP, the vehicle continued traveling north on Mecca Pike in Tellico Plains.
The victim died in the crash but the authorities didn’t say whether it was a car or pedestrian that caused the crash and also the identity of the victim remains unknown.
The fatal crash is being investigated by the officials.
The identity of the deceased victim was not revealed by the officials.
It is unclear whether drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.
