One person was killed and another received serious injuries after a two-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon in the Delta.
As per the initial information, the fatal head-on collision took place at about 1 p.m. on Highway 160 at West Sherman Island Road, which is just south of Rio Vista. The early reports showed that a driver crossed into the wrong lane of traffic and collided head-on with another vehicle.
The motorists of each vehicle were the only people involved in the wreck. The surviving driver was rushed to the hospital with major injuries. It is still unknown which driver died. The identities of the victims have not been released. The roadways have since been cleared for traffic. No other details have been made available.
The crash remains under review.
