1 Person Died After A Three-Car Crash On Highway 17 (Savannah, GA)

Authorities responded to a three-car crash on Highway 17 that claimed a life. 

According to the police, a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta traveling northbound on the Highway struck a concrete barrier and spun out on the road. It was hit by a 2021 Nissan Van traveling north at the same time. 

Three passengers inside the vehicle remained uninjured. 

A 2019 Chevy Silverado traveling southbound struck the Jetta. The driver was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. 

The Volkswagen driver died at the scene. 

It is unknown what caused the crash. 

Northbound lanes of the Talmadge Bridge were shut down following the fatal crash. 

The crash is under investigation.
