One person was killed and three others had injuries after a wreck Friday afternoon in Oakland.
As per the initial information, the three-vehicle accident took place at about 4:45 p.m. at the intersection of Bancroft Avenue and Church Street. The preliminary reports showed that a motorist was heading westbound on Bancroft Avenue at a high speed when it went through a red light at Church Street, and plowed into another vehicle.
A man, who was the driver of the other car, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Another driver and two passengers were transported to a hospital with unspecified injuries. The driver, who did not stop at the red light, was transported to the hospital for injuries and detained after police found a gun in his car. The man’s identity was not revealed. No other details are available.
The wreck remains under review.
