According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, a motor vehicle accident was reported on Wednesday night.
The officials stated that the crash happened at the intersection of 25th Street East and Avenue S at around 9 p.m.
The officials reported that two vehicles collided at the intersection, sending one of the vehicles to the sidewalk where a man was selling balloons.
The man on the sidewalk was struck and taken to the hospital where the authorities declared him dead.
The officials confirmed that another victim was taken to the hospital. The condition of the victim is unknown at the moment.
The identity of the deceased victim is yet to be determined.
The LASD is investigating whether drugs or alcohol were involved in the fatal crash.
