On Saturday afternoon, one person was killed and another suffered injuries after they got struck by a vehicle in Clinton Township while officers arrested 29-year-old driver on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
As per the initial information, the fatal pedestrian accident took place at about 4:52 p.m. on eastbound I-94, close to the Harper south exit. The preliminary investigation showed that the driver of a Chevy Malibu failed to maintain control of his vehicle and hit two male pedestrians. The driver was suspected of drunken driving.
Reports further added that the two victims had lost control of their car, a white Suburban, and came out of their vehicle to walk towards the tow truck that came to their help. Just then, the vehicle struck them. One of them, a 45-year-old, was declared dead at the scene while the 22-year-old man was in critical condition. The Chevy seemed to have drifted off the roadway down the embankment before hitting the victims. All three people involved in the accident are residents of Roseville.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
