One person was killed after being hit by multiple vehicles Wednesday in the southbound lanes of the 405 Freeway in Gardena.
As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian collision took place on 405 Freeway. A big rig’s driver reported that they possibly struck a person who was already in lanes at around 4:40 a.m. The driver also reported that the victim, described only as a male, had apparently been hit by a car already.
A Sigalert was announced for four lanes of the freeway north of Vermont Avenue for several hours. Just the carpool lane was open to allow a trickle of traffic to get by. All lanes were opened again to traffic after 9 a.m. No other details are available.
