One person was killed after getting struck by a vehicle in New Orleans.
As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian crash took place in the 5900 block of Chef Menteur Highway in the westbound lanes of the Danziger Bridge. Officers actively responded to the crash scene at about 2:35 p.m. The early reports showed that an Acura SUV broke down in the westbound lane and the driver was standing outside the vehicle.
At some point of time, the driver of a Honda SUV also going in the same lane hit the driver and their stalled vehicle. The victim suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. Danziger Bridge Westbound lanes were initially closed, but have since reopened. No other details are made available.
The incident remains under investigation.
