On Monday evening, one person was killed after getting hit by a train in San Marcos.
As per the initial information, the fatal pedestrian accident took place near the railroad tracks on C M Allen Parkway shortly before 6 p.m. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified.
C M Parkway near Children’s Park was shut down for several hours as crews worked at the scene. Traffic is very heavy near the intersection of C M Allen and Hopkins Street. Drivers were advised to avoid the area by using Aquarena Springs Drive or Wonder World Drive if possible. No other details are available.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
