1 person dead after an auto-pedestrian crash in Puyallup (Puyallup, WA)

On early Sunday morning, one person was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Puyallup.

As per the initial information, the fatal pedestrian accident took place in the 3400 block of S Meridian Street a little before 3 a.m. The preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of a silver passenger car was traveling northbound on S Meridian Street when the vehicle went off the roadway and struck the pedestrian.

The driver, a 24-year-old woman, was detained on suspicion of DUI and booked into the Pierce County Jail on investigation of vehicular homicide. The pedestrian has been identified as a 59-year-old man. No other details were released.

The crash remains under review.
