A 48-year-old man lost his life after being struck by a vehicle near Valley Mall exit along I-82 eastbound.
As per the initial information, the fatal pedestrian crash took place at about 5:17 a.m. on interstate 82 at exit 36 in Union Gap. The preliminary investigation revealed that 33-year-old Eric Martin was driving a 2017 Kia Soul eastbound while a pedestrian was standing in the roadway.
Just then, Martin hit the pedestrian, identified as a 48-year-old man. The man suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. The driver of the vehicle remained uninjured. No other details are available.
The crash remains under investigation.
