1 person dead after an auto-pedestrian collision in Westminster (Westminster, CA)

On Monday afternoon, one person was killed after being hit by a vehicle in Westminster.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian collision took place shortly before 12:40 p.m. in the 8600 block of Westminster Boulevard near Liberty Park. The preliminary investigation indicated that a vehicle struck one person for reasons that are yet to be known. On arrival, emergency crews rushed the victim to UCI Medical Center where he later died of his injuries.

The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified, but officials said that he was between 65 and 75 years old. The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. Officials believe that drugs or alcohol were not involved in the accident. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
