On Tuesday morning, one person died after being hit by a vehicle in Baton Rouge.
As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian crash took place on Essen Ln. near Our Lady of the Lake Hospital at about 1 a.m. The early reports showed that a vehicle struck one person for reasons that are yet to be known.
The area was shut down for a period of time as crews worked at the scene, but has since reopened. According to the responders, an 18-wheeler was stopped in front of Our Lady of the Lake Hospital. No other details are available.
The incident remains under investigation.
