1 person dead after an auto-pedestrian accident in Spanaway (Spanaway, WA)

On Sunday night, a pedestrian was killed after getting struck by a vehicle in Spanaway.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian collision took place on southbound State Route 7 at 160th Street South. The early reports indicated that the pedestrian stepped into the road and in front of the car, which failed to stop and hit the victim.

It is unknown if the vehicle that hit the pedestrian stayed at the scene or not after the collision. All lanes of traffic were shut down as crews worked at the scene. Traffic was rerouted to 159th Street South. No other details were released by the officials.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
