On Saturday night, one person was killed following a multi-vehicle wreck on Highway 58.
As per the initial information, the fatal three-vehicle pile-up took place a little before 10:00 p.m. in the westbound lanes of Highway 58, around a mile west of the Tucker Road off-ramp. The early reports revealed that a pickup truck and two semi-trucks were involved in the accident. According to the officials, the pickup truck was traveling east in westbound lanes when it collided with a semi-truck.
It is unknown how the second semi was involved in the collision. Officials shut down the westbound traffic at Tucker Road in Tehachapi as crews worked to clean up the crash site. Caltrans rerouted the traffic. Officers requested a coroner to the scene. No further details were provided.
An investigation is ongoing.
