One person died after a traffic collision Monday night in East Palo Alto.
As per the initial information, the fatal single-vehicle crash took place just after 8 p.m. on University Avenue at Cooley. The early reports showed that a vehicle was going at high speeds when it lost control and plowed into a tree. The driver, who was sole occupant of the vehicle, was killed as a result of the wreck.
The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. University Avenue was shut down in both directions from Runnymede Street to Bay Road while crews worked at the scene. Motorists were advised to find alternate routes. No further details are available.
The crash remains under review.
