On Thursday morning, one person was killed following a two-vehicle accident in Merced County.
As per the initial information, the fatal bicycle crash took place after 6:30 am on Dickenson Ferry Road and Gurr Road. The preliminary investigation showed that the bicycle and a semi-truck collided for unknown reasons.
The bicyclist suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. Officials shut down part of the roadway as crews worked at the scene and asked the drivers to avoid the area.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
