On Saturday evening, one person was killed while three others suffered injuries following a multi-vehicle wreck near Eastern Avenue and Windmill Parkway.
The fatal four-vehicle pile-up took place at about 7 p.m. at Eastern and Bluegrass Lane. On arrival, emergency crews rushed one person to the hospital, where they were later declared dead. Three others were taken to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
Impairment is suspected to be involved in the collision. Eastern Avenue was shut down in both directions between Windmill and Robindale Road, and was expected to be blocked through the evening as crews worked at the scene. No other details have been released by the officials.
The cause of the wreck is under investigation.
