A teenage girl lost her life while two others suffered critical injuries following a multi-vehicle wreck Sunday morning in Norwalk.
As per the initial information, officers actively responded to the intersection of Foster Road and Studebaker Road in Norwalk at about 10:40 a.m. after getting reports of a four-vehicle pile-up. The early reports indicated that two vehicles crashed into each other also damaging two other cars. On arrival, medics rushed an adult woman and a teenage girl from one of the cars to the hospital in critical condition.
The teenager, who was a passenger, succumbed to her injuries in the hospital. A third person in a different car was also taken to a hospital with critical injuries. Street racing is not considered as a factor at this time; however, officials believe that the collision was caused by someone disregarding a red light. The intersection was shut down for several hours till 2:15 p.m. as crews worked at the scene. No other details are available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
