According to the Santa Maria Police Department, a fatal crash was reported on Monday night in Santa Maria.
Officials confirmed that one pedestrian died due to the hit-and-run accident.
Authorities stated that the pedestrian collision occurred at the intersection of Betteravia Road and Oakley Avenue.
The driver of a dark-coloured sedan struck a pedestrian.
On committing the wreck, the vehicle fled from the scene.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
