According to the San Antonio Police Department, a fatal crash was reported recently. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the pedestrian accident.
The driver of a Tesla failed to negotiate a curve. This resulted in him going over a concrete island and striking a person walking on a sidewalk.
The driver was identified as 29-year-old Robert Castillo. Castillo fled from the scene after committing the wreck. He was later arrested on the charges of failure to stop and render aid.
Other insights into the accident including the identity of the victim remain unknown.
The cause of the collision is yet to be determined. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident.
The crash continues to be investigated by the SAPD.
