According to the El Paso Police Department, a fatal crash was reported on Saturday morning in El Paso.
Officials confirmed that one person died in the pedestrian accident.
Authorities stated that the hit-and-run collision occurred along Border Highway West at Midway. A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle which later fled the scene. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck.
Other details including the identity of the deceased and the description of the vehicle involved remain unknown.
The cause of the accident remains unknown.
It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident.
The crash continues to be investigated by the EPPD.
