The Police Department reported a hit-and-run crash in Evans on Tuesday evening.
The collision occurred on Columbia Industrial Boulevard at around 6 p.m.
A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The name and identity of the victim have not been released.
Authorities reported that Michael Kilgore, 58, is currently in custody on Wednesday.
It is unsure what caused the crash and how it happened. He is accused of first-degree vehicular homicide and failing to appear, per inmate bookings.
The fatal crash is being investigated by the officials.
