A 64-year-old man riding an electric bicycle crashed into the side of a pickup truck that pulled out in front of him in the North Park neighborhood on Sunday.
The incident took place just before 4:45 p.m. on Lincoln Avenue between Hamilton and Arizona streets. A 29-year-old man steering a 2014 GMC Sierra pickup was traveling northbound in an alley between Hamilton and Arizona streets when he stopped before crossing Lincoln Avenue.
A 64-year-old man was riding an electric-assisted bicycle westbound in the eastbound lanes of Lincoln Avenue. The bicyclist rammed into the side of the pickup when the truck was crossing Lincoln Avenue in front of the bicyclist. On arrival, medics transported the bicyclist to a hospital with non-life- threatening injuries, including a fractured right ankle. The pickup driver did not suffer any injuries as a result of the crash.
An investigation is underway.
