The Bryan Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash on Thursday morning. According to BPD, the collision happened on Highway 6 going south at the Briarcrest Drive flyover at around 11:30 a.m.
The officials confirmed that there was only one vehicle involved in the collision. An SUV appeared to have left the road and collided with a pillar of the flyover bridge.
The driver of the vehicle suffered critical injuries and was rushed to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead. His identity is not yet known at this time.
Whether drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash is yet to be found. Following the incident, Highway 6 in the southbound direction was closed for a period of time.
The fatal crash is being looked into by the police.
