According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported on Thursday in Highgrove. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the pedestrian accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred on the northbound side of Interstate 215, north of Centre Street. A pedestrian attempted to cross the northbound lanes when he was struck by a Kia Optima. Subsequently, he was also struck by other vehicles.
As a result of this, the pedestrian was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. Information regarding the identity of the deceased person is pending release.
The crash continues to be investigated by the CHP. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
