On early Sunday morning, a dirt-bike rider suffered injuries after crashing his vehicle into a cornfield in Ottawa County.
Officials reported that a 48-year-old man was traveling northbound on 8th Avenue on his dirt-bike shortly before 2:00 a.m. He failed to yield at a stop sign at 8th Avenue & Wilson Street, as a result of which his bike struck a street sign and crashed into a cornfield. On arrival, medics rushed the man to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
The driver was reportedly wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. Officers said that the dirt-bike was not street legal or equipped with proper safety equipment.
