The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle crash on Friday early morning. The accident happened on Ridgeway Avenue Way and Van Buren Blvd at around 1:30 a.m.
The crash involved a motorist. The man was at the wheel of a sedan when he steered off the road and into a vacant space during some type of medical emergency, CHP officials said.
After arriving at the scene a short while later, CHP officers and paramedics from the Riverside County Fire Department pronounced the driver dead there. The name and identity of the person were not made public yet.
The fatal crash is still being investigated by the officials. The vehicle was undamaged, and nothing in the area appeared to have been hit. An autopsy was pending to determine the cause of death.
