The Santa Fe Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash on Wednesday early morning. The accident happened at the St. Francis Dr. and Sawmill Road area at around 3:30 a.m.

The semi-truck was traveling west on I-10 when it veered to the right. The man was found by police, who reported that he appeared to have been hit by a car. 

After being taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital, the man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed by the officials. 

According to SFPD, the vehicle fled the scene and they do not have a description of it. 

The fatal crash is being invested by the Santa Fe Police Department. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
