The California Highway Patrol responded to a motor vehicle crash that claimed a life and injured another.
The crash happened on Saturday afternoon when the 2023 Tesla they were in barreled off San Felipe Road near Metcalf Road in Santa Clara County.
The vehicle rested after it slammed into two trees.
According to the CHP, the 22-year-old driver was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
The 24-year-old passenger managed to climb out of the vehicle and was transported to the hospital. However, the extent of his injuries is not clear.
According to Ross Lee, a California Highway Patrol spokesman, the Tesla was going at a high rate of speed.
The crash is under investigation.
