According to the Memphis Police Department, a motor vehicle crash was reported on Thursday in Memphis.
Officials confirmed that one person was killed due to the fatal accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred near I-40 and Hollywood Street.
An MPD cruiser crashed out on the interstate.
The injured officer was transported to Regional One for treatment for his serious injuries.
Other details pertaining to the crash have not yet been revealed.
The case is under the purview of the MPD.
