State police responded to a fatal crash on Friday at the intersection of New Mexico State Road 2 and Darby road.
A preliminary investigation reveals a 2005 Ford Mustang was traveling west on Darby. For reasons unknown, the Mustang failed to yield and was struck by a 2008 Chevrolet truck.
The 17-year-old Mustang’s passenger died at the scene. The Chevrolet driver, a 56-year-old, and the 17-year-old Mustang driver were taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
According to NMSP, the passenger and the drivers involved in the crash were properly restrained. Alcohol does not seem to be a factor in the crash.
The names of the victims will not be released by the officials. No further details regarding the crash are currently available.
The crash remains under investigation.
