1 Deputy Injured In a Hit-And-Run Crash In Reno (Reno, NV)

According to the Reno Police Department, a hit-and-run crash was reported on Monday morning in Reno.

Officials confirmed that one deputy officer was injured due to the accident.

Authorities stated that the collision occurred on the shoulder of North Virginia Street, south of Talus Way.

A truck traveling northbound struck the driver’s front side of the Reno Police vehicle.

It then continued to strike the ECSO deputy who was standing outside the patrol vehicle.

The truck continued to drive away and a traffic stop had to be initiated.

Alcohol was found to be the major cause of the wreck.

The driver of the truck was arrested and booked into the Washoe County Detention Facility.

The WSCO deputy was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Other information was not released by the RPD.
